Bladen We Care’s 26th annual fund-raisers were very successful according to President, Mac Campbell, Jr.

Campbell reported recently that the Annual Gala and Golf tournament will provide the funds for grants to, Bladen County residents, who are experiencing difficult times due to medical expenses. Bladen We Care also assists other organizations that provide assistance to area residents, including Bladen Crisis Center and Bladen Baptist Association.

Bladen We Care grants are, for the most part, provided for short term relief for local residents with special, mostly, one time needs. Bladen County residents are primarily referred by Medical Professionals, Human Services, and the Bladen County school system. The requests are reviewed by volunteers as received, and grants approved are available immediately.

Bladen We Care has also partnered with Bladen Community College and UNC-Pembroke to provide grants for local residents interested in entering the medical profession.

The annual fundraisers, along with memorials, are the primary source of revenues. Memorials may be sent to, Bladen We Care at: P.O. Box 1569, Elizabethtown, NC, 28337.

The 2015 Gala was held at The Venue at White Lake, and the Byron Gooden Golf Tournament was held at Vineyard Golf at White Lake. Campbell praised the support and cooperation from both businesses, as well as volunteers at both events.

Bladen We Care operates with a nine member volunteer Board of Directors.
