There have been 1,300 ballots cast in Bladen County through Saturday, according to figures released by the Bladen County Board of Elections, as the early voting period for the March 3 primary enters its final week.

The Bladen County Board of Elections office in Elizabethtown had 835 votes cast through Saturday,  Spaulding Monroe in Bladenboro had 288 votes counted and East Arcadia Town Hall had 177 votes recorded through the first nine days of early voting.

Those three sites will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. weekdays, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturdays and 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sundays through February 28. On Saturday, February 29, polls will be open from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. All 17 precincts will be open March 3 for primary voting.

The general election is November 3.

Photo identification is not required to be able to vote.

Voters will decide by party affiliation candidates for November’s general election from president, national and state legislatures, state council, judges, county commissioner and school board members.

Only those races where more candidates from a party have filed than seats available will be on the primary ballot.
