On Friday, March 27, Town of White Lake Mayor, Goldston Womble, released a State of Emergency for the Town.
Mayor Womble said on Friday, “As part of that pursuant to that emergency declaration, today, we will issue a Proclamation about the rentals. I think we are a little different than other towns because people are looking into possibilities of staying in our rental properties.”
He added, “We declared the State of Emergency so I can prohibit those short term rentals. We don’t want to overburden our local health care system,” Mayor Womble said, “We certainly don’t want to put our employees down at White Lake at greater risk, or our other residents at White Lake at greater risk.”
