So much going on all around us …. Republican National Convention in Charlotte, a couple of storms ‘bearing down’ on the coast of Louisiana … In Bladen County, we have much to be thankful for…

Weather today … A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 4 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Light west wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph this morning. Winds could gusts as high as 15 mph. 30% chance of precipitation.

Tonight, partly cloudy, low around 72. Wednesday, mostly sunny with a high near 94 with heat index values as high as 103 … Same type forecast for Thursday and thru the weekend … Still better than the weather expected in Louisiana…

Did you watch the opening of the Republican convention in Charlotte? … Telecast begins same as my bedtime … Did not watch any of the Democratic convention … last week…

TV stations should be ‘licking their chops” with all the political commercials … Money flowing, both parties…

Years ago, political activity would usually begin shortly after Labor Day … Seems it gets earlier and earlier…

Hope you do as I do … Listen to all, then vote your conscience…

Remember when I was in school, high temps, no air conditioning and I was wearing my new flannel shirt, back to school special. Mom told me I was going to ‘roast’, and I did, but proud of my new store bought shirt and blue jeans.
