East Bladen senior Lefrederick Wooten announced on his twitter account @FredyWooten that he is verbally committed to play baseball in the 2021-2022 season at Fayetteville Technical Community College. Wooten also tweeted his thanks to Coach Billy Gaskins for the opportunity.

Wooten was an All-Three Rivers Conference performer as a sophmore in 2019 when he batted .352 with 21 runs batted in, 21 runs scored and 7 doubles. On the mound Wooten posted a 5-2 pitching record as the Eagles reached the fourth round of the NCHSAA play-offs.

The righthander pitched a 4-hit shutout in a key conference win over Red Springs and fired a one-hit shutout in a 23-0 win over South Robeson.

Before the coronavirus halted the 2020 season, Wooten pitched a 4-hitter and struck out 6 batters in the East Bladen opener against Whiteville. At the plate he knocked in 4 runs in just 3 games.
