CONWAY, SC – Quarterback Grayson McCall threw for 273 yards and 2 touchdowns Friday night to lead Coastal Carolina to a 41-23 victory over Campbell.

It was the second straight loss for the Camels in a nationally televised game against a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent.

The Chanticleers who rolled to a 38-23 victory over Kansas last week opened up a 21-3 lead midway the second period and never let the Camels get closer than 21-9 and 28-15 after that.

Quarterback Hajj-Malik Williams passed for 137 yards and ran for 62 yards and a touchdown for the Camels. Teammate C. J. Freeman rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown.

Elizabethtown native Chris Cromartie started again at nose guard for the Camels and was credited with 2 tackles – one solo.

Campbell will travel to Boone Saturday (Sept. 26) to battle No. 23 Appalachian State in a 12 noon game.
