BLADENBORO – West Bladen’s Lady Knights swept West Columbus 3-0 Tuesday night by set scores of 25-16, 25-8 and 25-11 in the non-conference volleyball season-opener for both teams.
Senior Sidnee Walters hammered in 9 kills, 5 aces, a block and 2 service points to lead the Lady Knights. Senior Ashlyn Cox dished out 11 assists and drilled in 8 service points and 3 aces.
Sophomore Whitney McLean fired in 8 kills, 6 aces and 4 service points for the winners. Senior Shelby Pharr drilled in 5 service points, 2 aces, 3 kills and had one dig. Sophomore Emily Young knocked in 3 service points, an ace and 2 kills.
Senior Amelia Brisson slammed in 3 kills, an ace and a service point for the Lady Knights. Sophomore Lydia Villagomez racked up 2 kills, 2 service points and an ace. Sophomore Catherine Dowless tallied 4 service points, and senior Alyssa Suggs added a service point.
Coach Gaye Davis’ Lady Knights will travel to Red Springs Wednesday for a 4:30 match.
