ELIZABETHTOWN –East Bladen dropped the first set Monday then rallied to win the next 2 sets and claim a 2-1 non-conference junior varsity volleyball victory over West Bladen Monday by set scores of 18-25, 25-21 and 15-8.

It was the first win of the season for the Lady Eagles who improved to 1-2 and will host Whiteville Tuesday at 4:30.

The Lady Knights, now 2-1, suffered their initial loss of the season and will travel to Fairmont Tuesday at 4:30.

Sophmore Makayla Wright hammered in 11 kills, 2 aces and 3 other service points to lead the Lady Knights. Madilyn Walters fired in 6 service points that included 2 aces and had one dig.

Karly Ross drilled in 7 service points that included one ace for West. Teammate Kylie Durden pounded in 5 aces and 2 other service points. Trinity Meares slammed in 2 kills.

Kennedy Carroll dished out 3 assists and had a service point for West Bladen. Jenna McLean smoked in 2 aces, and Kaitlyn Brisson delivered one ace.
