The North Carolina Highway Patrol reported that eleven wrecks took place in Bladen County in the past seven days.
Heather Ross Miller of Kelly, internationally known novelist and poet and Chairman of the English Department at Southeastern Community College, is represented in the New York Times Book of Verse.
There were seven arson cases being investigated in the southeastern section of Bladen County.
