CERRO GORDO – West Bladen’s Lady Knights pulled away with a trio of 2nd half goals  and posted a 4-0 non-conference girls’ soccer victory over West Columbus Friday.

Freshman Shamaria Jackson delivered an assist to sophomore Makayla Wright who fired in the 1st goal of the game in the 10th minute to give the Lady Knights a 1-0 lead.

Jackson scored her 1st goal of the season in the 63rd minute to pad the lead to 2-0. Three minutes later sophomore Lainey Autry raced down the field and knocked in a goal to boost the West Bladen lead to 3-0.

Later Autry sent a pass to freshman Eliana Padilla who converted the assist into a goal in the 73rd minute and a 4-0 Lady Knight lead.

Sophomore Tazshea Greene recorded the shutout in goal for the Lady Knights and was credited with 5 saves.

Coach Kristen Parker’s Lady Knights improved to 4-5-1 with the victory and will travel to Whiteville Monday for a 5:30 game.
