DUE WEST, SC – Former West Bladen star Trevor Lesane batted 8-for-14, scored 5 runs and drove in two runs as his Erskine Flying Fleet won 3 of 4 games during their final baseball series of the regular season against Chowan University.

Lesane belted a single and was hit by a pitch during Erskine’s 14-2 victory in the 1st game of Thursday’s double-header. In the nightcap the Tar Heel native batted 2-for-4, drove in 2 runs and scored a run in Erskine’s 21-5 victory in the nightcap of Thursday’s double-header.

In the 2nd inning of the 2nd game, Lesane reached base on a fielder’s choice, advanced on a wild pitch and dashed home on Dalton Boyd’s sacrifice fly for a 2-0 Erskine lead. Lesane ripped a single to left-centerfield in the 5th inning that plated Dayan Reinoso for a 5-4 Flying Fleet lead. The senior centerfielder knocked in Nick McAlister with a 6th-inning single that grew the lead to 10-4.

Lesane smacked a single to centerfield in the 7th inning of Friday’s opener and later raced home on Cody Forster’s sacrifice fly that trimmed the Chowan lead to 3-2. The Flying Fleet tied the game later in the inning, but the Hawks pushed across a run in the 8th inning to take a 4-3 victory.

Erskine pulled out a split of Friday’s double-header as Lesane belted 4 hits and scored 3 runs in a 20-3 win. The West Bladen grad yanked a single to left in the 3rd inning and darted home on Forster’s infield hit that padded the Flying Fleet lead to 5-1.

Lesane laced a single to centerfield in the 4th inning and scored on Livan Reinoso’s grand-slam home run that pushed the lead to 15-1. Later in the inning, Lesane rapped a single to centerfield and raced home on Cal Bocchino’s single as the lead grew to 19-1. The Tar Heel native later singled to left for his 4th hit of the game.

For the season, Lesane is batting .375 with 33 hits in 27 games and has 18 runs scored, 5 doubles, 16 runs batted in, 40 total bases and a .455 slugging percentage.

The Flying Fleet finished 3rd in the Conference Carolinas with a 19-13 record and a 22-18 overall mark. Erskine will open play in the Conference Carolinas Tournament as the 3rd seed Thursday at 11 a.m. at Fleming Stadium in Wilson against Belmont Abbey, the No. 4 seed.
