Spread the love

By Cara Beth Lewis

Residents of Bladenboro and the surrounding area have expressed much excitement as the news has spread of a Mexican Restaurant coming to town. Owners of the soon-opening El Torito Mexican Restaurant are just as excited, as they hope to open for the first time on Saturday, October 30th – pending inspection approval.

Saturday will be a big day for Bladenboro, with the 14th annual Beast Fest taking place, an open house at the new store, 2 Broke Teachers – Bladen, and a new restaurant opening for the first time. Big things are happening in little Bladenboro, and the citizens are ecstatic.

El Torito is owned by Tito Diaz and Thelma Flores who are residents of Bladenboro. They shared with Bladen Online that they have wanted to do this for a long time, and they are excited that it is finally happening. Thelma added, “We want to make the community better, and we want to give the people a different Hispanic taste.”

The co-owners have wonderful ideas and hopes for their business. They shared that they will offer take-out and hope to be able to offer a delivery service in the local area. Eventually, their goal is to expand and add a bar.

The restaurant will be hiring new employees, bringing new jobs to the town.

El Torito Mexican Restaurant is located at 133 West Railroad Street in Bladenboro, next to Chandler’s Backstreet Barber Shop and Beauty Shop. They will be open from 11 am until 9 pm daily.
