The Elizabethtown–White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce invites businesses and residents to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting for Sweeter than Hunny, a new store in downtown Elizabethtown on Friday, April 8 at noon.
Sweeter than Hunny, owned by Toni Cross, opened in time for this past Christmas season. It is a unique gift store and boutique with a variety of items that inspire the interest of everyone.
Toni, a life-long resident of Elizabethtown, is married to Powell Cross and has 4 children and 3 grandchildren. She explained that many years ago, she had a nice little gift shop, candy store and gift basket business called Sweet Thoughts. “When Powell and I started raising a family, I stepped to the side to raise my family,” she said. “Now with my new nickname (Hunny) from my grandchildren, I am excited to be back to fulfill my dreams of owning my own business of putting smiles on peoples’ faces.”
In the store, some of the popular items are Yankee Candles, Brumate, Umgee, Pol and Judy Blue Blue Jeans. For the master of the grill in the family, the store offers Bourbon Barrel spices and sauces along with a recipe book that will keep the Master cooking for years. To satisfy the sweet and salty tooth, there’s Jelly Belly jelly beans, Poppy popcorn in many different sweet and salty flavors, mini chocolate chip cookies from Oh Sugar and many more food items including whiskey soaked Wheelers praline pecans. They will also design and build the perfect gift basket for any special someone and occasion.
Sweeter than Hunny is in the Cross Plaza at 129 W. Broad Street, Elizabethtown.
