CLINTON – Clinton scored 2 goals in each half and defeated West Bladen 4-0 Monday night in the Southeastern Athletic Conference boys’ soccer opener for both teams.
“Clinton is a very good team,” said Knight Coach Kristen Parker. “I believe the way we played tonight is definitely a move in the right direction. We were missing 2 starters so I was pleased with how well we were able to adjust and fill the gaps.”
Seniors Kevin Hall, Daniel Adasiak and Addiel Avellaneda and freshman Holden Spell scored 1 goal each for the Dark Horses. Junior Walker Spell and Avellaneda dished out 2 assists each.
“We have Union tomorrow then we have a few days to get everyone healthy again,” added Parker. The Knights, now 4-3, will travel to Union Tuesday for a 6 p.m. match. Clinton improved to 7-2-1.
In Monday’s earlier junior varsity match, Clinton defeated West Bladen 8-0.
