Four people were killed and two injured Sunday morning in a single vehicle wreck on U.S. 701 south of Garland near the Bladen County line, the N.C. Highway Patrol says.

None of the names of those in the wreck have been released by the Highway Patrol.

According to a report, the driver of a 2006 Ford pickup was traveling south on U.S. 701 about 3:15 a.m. when the vehicle went off the road onto the right shoulder. The vehicle then overturned and struck a tree. Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the cause of the wreck.

The driver of the vehicle, a 54-year-old man, along with three male passengers in the back seat were killed, according to a report. A woman in the front seat and a man in the back seat were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville with what was described as serious injuries.
