Bladen County Get out and VoteThe political races officially start tomorrow, Thursday, October 22nd with Early Voting, but not all Bladen County towns are participating. Dublin, East Arcadia and Tar Heel will not be participating in the One-Stop Voting, and Absentee Mail voting since the town officials in Dublin, East Arcadia, and Tar Heel passed resolutions.
The reason for the resolutions, most say, is because the participation in Early Voting in those towns are very low.
Mayor of Tar Heel, Mr. Roy Dew said, “We have to pay a total of $2,700 for voting expenses. About 50% of that cost is for early voting expenses and the  amount of turn out for early voting doesn’t justify the cost. So we decided to pass the resolution.”
Registered voters in four municipalities can begin casting ballots tomorrow, October 22nd at the Bladen County Public Library in Elizabethtown. One- Stop voting is scheduled from 8:30 am until 5 pm weekdays beginning Oct. 22nd and ending on October 30th. There will also be voting taking place on Saturday, Oct.
Voters in Bladenboro, Clarkton, Elizabethtown, and White Lake may select mayors and board members during the early voting. Dublin, East Arcadia and Tar Heel voters will also be voting on mayors and board members, however, they will only be able to vote on Election Day, November 3rd.
