East Bladen’s unbeaten Lady Eagles raced to a 27-5 first quarter lead and rolled to a 69-23 Four County Conference victory over Pender on Senior Night at East.
An 18-7 second quarter surge stretched the Lady Eagle lead to 45-12 at halftime, and the margin grew to 61-21 after 3 periods.
Junior Lacey Suggs topped the East Bladen scoring with 24 points and added 7 steals, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Senior center Imani Turner-Dobson dominated the inside play with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 blocked shots.
Senior Abbey Norris contributed 9 points and 5 rebounds for the winners, and junior point guard Abby Ward finished with 7 points, 6 steals and 4 assists. Junior Christiana Cromartie was credited with 4 steals and 4 assists.
The Lady Eagles, the NC Preps No. 1 Class 2-A team in the state, raised their record to 10-0 in the league and 20-0 overall. East Bladen will travel to Rocky Point Trask Tuesday night.
