BURGAW – Pender edged West Bladen 7-6 Tuesday in a Four County Conference jayvee softball game that was stopped after 4 innings due to a time limit.
Katie Ezzell batted a perfect 2-2 to lead the West Bladen hitters. Indyah Williams finished with a perfect 2-3 day at the plate.
Freshman Erica McKoy walloped a 2-run home run, and sophmores Patience Parker and Elizabeth Allbright connected for one hit each. Pitcher Brittany Landreth batted 1-2 for the Lady Knights.
The Lady Patriots capitalized on 2 hits, 11 walks and 2 errors to score their 7 runs. Landreth struck out two Pender batters.
The Lady Knights are now 5-4 on the season.
