Bladen County Adopt A CopSome folks in Bladen County are trying to brighten the days of the law enforcement officers in Bladen County. The Bladen County Adopt-A-Cop program has been very popular and folks are still angling to adopt an officer.

After hearing about the Adopt-A-Cop initiative in Concord, a group of spouses and citizens decided to work together to make it happen in Bladen County. The goal is for each officer in Bladen County to be “adopted” by a business/family/resident.

The way it works, is you contact Melonie Knight Davis on Facebook and let her know you want to adopt an officer. You will be given the officers name and you write them an appreciation letter or thank you note. You spend about $20 on a gift for them (a gift card, a goody basket, etc.).

You will meet up with or determine a drop off location for the goodies on or before next Thursday, July 28.

The organizers of Bladen County Adopt-A-Cop will bring all the items to the local departments (Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, Bladenboro Police Department, Elizabethtown Police Department, State Highway Patrol, and White Lake Police Department) and hand deliver them on Friday, July 29.
