The 10th annual Bladenboro Beast Fest is now in the record books. Organizers say they were pleased with the crowds that turned out to support event.

Don White said, “Beast Fest 2016 – “BOB” Arrives on the scene.  Glad everyone came out.  We had a record crowd again this year with estimates of over 1,200 on Friday night and between 9,000-10,000 on Saturday Perfect weather, around 100 food and craft vendors.  Boost the Boro is most appreciative to all the wonderful sponsors, vendors, and entertainers.  We are meeting this week to begin our planning process for 2017.  Stay tuned…2017 will be the Biggest and Best Best Fest yet.”

The event began on Friday night with the opening of the rides and games and a performance by the band “Honey Don’t” of Whiteville.

At about 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, the Beast Fest resumed activities with the Beast Fest 5K Fun Run/Walk. The Fun Run had 49 register with 41 participate, according to committee members.

For the children under the age of 12, New Light Church held a trunk or treat. Pastor Dale Hester said there were about 10 cars that participated. The vehicles were decorated for the occasion depicting Biblical themes.

For those who attended the Beast Fest in search of culinary delights, representatives for Lumbee Homemade Ice Cream said they sold out of their Collard Sandwiches and another vendor reported selling out of their Collard Wraps. All the vendors reporting have great sales.
There were also plenty of Classic Cars on display. There were over 60 classic cars with 50 register cars with the Beast Fest Southeast Classic Cruisers.  Some entries were from as far away as Loris and Conway in South Carolina.
