Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church will mark the annual celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 16, with a presentation followed by a light lunch in the PAC Building immediately following the parade.
The speaker for the event will the Rev. Pia Jessup, pastor of Rose Hill AME Zion Church. There will also be musical entertainment.
Rev. Jessup is a graduate of West Bladen High School and is the daughter of Betty Jessup and the late Charlie Jessup. Rev. Jessup was crowned the 2012 Miss Black North Carolina USA. She holds the distinction of being named the youngest woman to ever be appointed to pastor in the Cape Fear Conference.
