ELIZABETHTOWN – Freshman Majuan McKoy fired in 20 points to lead East Bladen to a 63-53 Four County Conference jayvee boys basketball victory over Wallace-Rose Hill Thursday night.

Byron Bowen netted 3 free throws and a basket to lead the Eagles to a 16-point first quarter. Sophmore Shy Pone threw in a pair of baskets, and Anthony Wooten, Tayshaun Berkely and McKoy added a basket each in the period for East.

Majuan McKoy dropped in 2 baskets in the second period, and Greyson Heustess, Jordan Robinson and Berkely tacked on a basket each. Bowen sank 2 free throws.

Majuan McKoy tossed in 2 more baskets in the third quarter, and Wooten, Bowen and Berkely connected for a basket each for East.

The Eagles exploded for 24 points in the final period to pull out the win. Majuan McKoy poured in 4 baskets and 2 free throws in the quarter. Pone filled up the basket with 3 baskets and 2 free throws, and Berkely pumped in 2 baskets. Wooten scored the other East basket.

Pone finished with 12 points, and Berkely followed with 10 points. Bowen totaled 9 pounds, and Wooten tallied 7 points.

Coach Greg High’s Eagles improved to 8-3 in league play and 13-5 overall. East Bladen will travel to Wallace-Rose Hill Monday night for a return match.
