Sure could use a little good news today.

 

As of 7AM today, about 35/100 of an inch was recorded by the National Weather Service at Curtis Brown Airport, Elizabethtown. Hopefully, much more is expected.

Find myself riding along, listening to Southern Gospel Music, turn the volume up and pretend I am at an all-night singing in the 50s and 60s. Statesman, Blackwood Bros., Lefevres, Sunshine Boys, Homeland Harmony, Florida Boys, and more.

Tomorrow begins a new month, with April Fool’s Day.

Checking weather stats for the new month, average high is 74, compared with 67 in March and the low for April is 48, up 8 degrees from March. Planting time for farmers.

If you wait ’til the last minute to file your 2016 IRS tax info, you will have a few extra days. The normal deadline is April 15. This year, it’s April 18. The 15th is on Saturday and April 17 is Emancipation Day in Washington, DC. Under tax law, legal holidays in DC affects the filing deadline across the nation.

Lots of activities on the weekend agenda, including a fundraiser Saturday afternoon and evening in Bladenboro. The Events Committee is sponsoring a fundraiser for a youngster suffering from leukemia. Food and fun are on the agenda beginning mid afternoon and continues thru the evening meal.

NCAA semi-finals are set for Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday. South Carolina vs Gonzaga at 6:09 PM and UNC plays Oregon at 8:49 PM.

And in DC, the circus continues.
