Jordan Kinlaw pitched a 4-hitter and struck out six batters to lead the Slammers to a 12-1 victory over the Comets Thursday night in Bladen Recreation 13-16 Girls Softball action at County Park.

Kinlaw allowed only one unearned run and did not walk a batter.

Johanna Parker circled the bases on a pair of errors to lead-off the game for the Slammers. Nesiah Davis-McKoy knocked in Shanell McMillian with a single to put the Slammers up 2-0. McMillian had reached base on a passed-third strike.

A 4-run Slammer second-inning widened the gap to 6-0. Sydney Gardner and Gray Guy drew walks and Briana Spears reached on a passed-third strike. All three of them scored. Parker drilled a 2-run double and later scored the final run of the inning.

McMillian was hit by a pitch in the third inning and later scored on a passed ball to up the count to 7-0.

The Comets answered with a run in the fourth as Emily Pait reached base on an error and scored on Alyssa Suggs fielder’s choice to trim the margin to 7-1.

Parker lined a single to centerfield to start the Slammer fifth. Abbie Cross and Lexy Guy drew walks, and McMillian was hit by a pitch. All four of them scored. Kinlaw walloped a double to centerfield to drive in a run and later scored the final run.

Parker batted 2-3 with the double. Kinlaw slammed the double, and Davis-McKoy belted a single.

Erica Storms, Amber Hickman, Natalie Ludlum and Emma Smith connected for one hit each to lead the Comet hitters.

Storms started in the circle for the Comets and struck out 5 in her 1.2 innings allowing 6 unearned runs on 2 hits and 2 walks. Shelby Pharr came on to strike out 7 in 3.1 innings of relief, while allowing 2 hits, 6 walks and 3 hit batters.

The two teams have now split their first two games in league play.
