Dixie Youth BaseballThe Tigers rallied from an early 4-3 deficit to defeat the Hurricanes 12-7 Friday night in Dixie Boys Baseball action at County Park.

Chase Starkloff smacked a single to begin the Tiger first. Tyler Hill and Mahki Cromartie drew walks. Fielder’s choices by Rasean McKoy and Grayson Clark scored Starkloff and Hill. Cromartie also scored to put the Tigers up 3-0.

The Hurricanes bounced back with 4 runs in their first. Elijah Crabtree led off with a single, and walks to Brycen Blackmon, Bryley Williams, Michael Young, Devon Strange and Alex Strange forced home Crabtree, Blackmon and Williams. Hunter Lockamy was hit by a pitch to force home Young with the go-ahead run.

Alex Brisson laced a single in the Tiger second and raced home with the tying run when Ahmad Powell slammed a double.

Starkloff ignited another Tiger rally with a third-inning single. Walks to McKoy, Clark and Wes Lambeth forced home Starkloff, and McKoy also scored to put the Tigers up 6-4.

Malcolm Bolden and Jordan Bryan cracked singles to start the Tiger fourth. Hill knocked in both Bolden and Bryan with a single that stretched the Tiger lead to 8-7.

Wadeyn Norris belted a single to start the Hurricane fourth. Crabtree and Blackmon drew walks, and Williams’ fielder’s choice plated Norris. Young reached base on an error that scored Crabtree, and another error put Alex Strange on base and scored Williams to trim the margin to 8-7.

The Tigers tacked on 4 more runs in the fifth. McKoy walked, Clark slapped a single and Lambeth’s fielder’s choice plated McKoy. Brisson and Bolden followed with singles that scored Clark and Brisson. Bolden scored the final run for the 12-7 margin.

Starkloff batted 2-2 to lead the Tigers. Brisson and Bolden both finished 2-3 at the plate, and Powell smashed a double. Hill, Clark, and Bryan added singles.

Cromartie relieved Clark on the mound in the second inning and pitched the final 4 innings to pick up the victory.

Crabtree and Norris connected for the only Hurricane hits. The Hurricanes capitalized on 11 walks. Young and Williams handled the pitching duties for the Hurricanes.
