Tropical Storm Emily has formed off the coast of Tampa, Florida. According to the National Weather Service office in Wilmington, the storm along a stalled cold front and is anticipated to move across Florida today and into the Atlantic Ocean.
Donald Hawkins with the National Weather Service, said the storm is expected to move northeast over the Atlantic Ocean and impacts to the North Carolina coast are expected to be minimal. “The only impact will be an increase in seas by mid-week,” said Hawkins.
