Some familiar faces to the Emergency Management and Fire communities have shifted to new roles this summer.

Kenneth Clark has moved from deputy fire marshall to fire marshall and Bradley Kinlaw is now serving as Emergency Management Director. Clark and Kinlaw stepped into their roles on July 1. Prior to July, Kinlaw served as both Fire Marshall and Emergency Management Director.

Clark said he was already performing many of the duties as fire marshall prior to the change.

Kinlaw said the change will be beneficial. He said, “I’ll be focused more on disaster preparedness including training and exercises.”

He added that Clark will now be responsible for being the liaison to the county’s fire departments including budget matters, fire investigation, code enforcement and fire inspections. Kinlaw said he will still be leading and teaching classes.

Kinlaw said the county performs 700 to 800 fire inspections throughout the year. He emphasized, the changes will be beneficial in allowing Kinlaw to focus more on emergency preparedness matters and Clark can focus more on the fire service aspect.
