A fire can be devastating, as one Chadbourn family learned during the wee hours of Saturday morning. Around 2 AM, a family of five lost everything due to a house fire. Chadbourn Police Officer Tavon Pierce and his wife Allison Pierce have three small children; Javie who is 3 years old, Taye who is 18 months old and Nova who is 7 months old.

Kayla Brown was with the family on Sunday when they received a tremendous amount of support from the community. Ms. Brown said she wanted to show everyone just how amazing the Chadbourn Police department and the Klondyke-Chadbourn Fire and Rescue are along with many other first response teams when it comes to assisting those in need.

Ms. Brown, in a Facebook live post, wrote a thank you to Mayor Phillip Britt and the Columbus County community and many others who have also assisted the family. Ms. Brown added the community is raising money, collecting household supplies, clothes, shoes, groceries and baby items to help this family get back on their feet.

If anyone would like to make a donation, please feel free to drop it off at the Chadbourn Police department at 602 N Brown St, Chadbourn, NC 28431.
