RED SPRINGS – East Bladen senior A. J. Smith and the West Bladen girls team were repeat winners Wednesday in a Three Rivers Conference cross country meet.

 

Smith (pictured above) who has won all 4 of his races this season was clocked in18 minutes, 16 seconds. West Bladen’s Keegan Haraldson who had won both of his previous races this season finished 4th with a time of 22:02.

The Lady Knights placed 2 girls in the top 5 and had 6 of the top 10 finishers as they won their 3rd straight meet. Sophomore Lainey Autry took 3rd place with a time of 25:45, and teammate Kaden Thurman finished 5th in 27 minutes, 42 seconds.

 

West Bladen’s Tinyauh Rhoda posted a 7th place finish with a time of 29:58 followed by teammates Violet Allen (30:21), Olivia Allen (32:43) and Azillyah McDonald (33:24) in places 8-10.

 

Sophomore Cate Devane led the East Bladen girls finishing in 25 minutes, 51 seconds to capture 4th place. DeVane had won her last 2 races. Teammate Aynalia McKoy was 11th Wednesday with a time of 33:01, followed by East Bladen’s Sydney Gardner who was clocked in 35:14.

 

In the boys race West Bladen’s Bradley Taylor placed 10th with a time of 25:00, followed by teammate Jacob Bryan in 11th place (27:13).

 

Both East Bladen and West Bladen will return to action on January 6th in a conference meet that will be the regional qualifier. That meet is tentatively scheduled for Luther Britt Park in Lumberton.
