Updated: A North Carolina Amber Alert for a Child Abduction in Fayetteville 

Update at about 10:00 p.m. on October 17, 2019

Fayetteville police say teen was found “safe and unharmed” after the Amber Alert was issued earlier today. Thanks to all who shared, read and helped pass the word around. 

The Fayetteville Police Department is searching for a missing child Nevia Maihyanna Nixon. Nevia Maihyanna is a 15 year old light skinned, black female, approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds.

She was last seen on September 25, 2019. She has dyed red hair, and hazel eyes. Unknown clothing description. Her abductor is unknown. Direction of travel is unknown.

Update at 12:30 p.m. on October 17, 2019: Fayetteville Police Department first alerted the public about Nixon’s disappearance on October 3rd because she had reportedly ran away from her mother’s home.  According to the requirements of an Amber Alert, a missing person alert may be upgraded to an Amber Alert, however, it must meet certain state requirements. The requirements may include evidence of an abduction and/or the belief  the child is in danger.

Nixon’s father is pleading for her safe return according to some media outlets.
