Staff report
A Shelter Friend has announced a successful week for rescued dogs, with several pets now safe and cared for in Bladen County and beyond. Among those safe are three feral puppies—Gravy, Sweet Potato, and Cornbread—along with Oatie, Tong, Mumah, Scootie, Jasmine, Tootsie, and Zac. These heartwarming rescues highlight the shelter’s ongoing efforts to care for animals in need.
Residents seeking a new furry friend are encouraged to consider adopting cats and dogs currently available at the shelter. Adoption inquiries can be made by contacting volunteers Silvia at (910) 876-0539 or Debbie at (339) 832-0806. Alternatively, emails can be sent to bladenpets@yahoo.com.
A Shelter Friend has also issued an urgent appeal for donations to address mounting medical expenses from an influx of emergencies. Contributions help save lives and reduce the need for euthanasia among lost and unwanted animals. Donations can be made via the shelter’s website at AShelterFriend.org/Donate or through Venmo.
