It appears that gas selling for under $2 in Bladen County will fall short, based on information from a gas-pricing Web site and AAA Carolinas.

While prices remain at their lowest since 2009 and more than $1 lower than a year ago, AAA Carolinas reports that prices ticked upward Tuesday and the organization expects the trend to continue. It’s not uncommon for gas prices to increase by 30 to 50 cents per gallon between early February and the middle of spring as refineries shut down for maintenance, says AAA Carolinas.

“Unfortunately, we expect gas prices to continue to rise gradually in the upcoming weeks,” said David E. Parsons, president and CEO of AAA Carolinas. “However, barring any events that could cause global oil prices to greatly increase, we believe we won’t see $3 per gallon in 2015.  READ MORE
