ST AUGUSTINE (FL) – Bladenboro native Abbey Walters batted 3-5 in the marathon second game of a Peach Belt Conference double-header Sunday that her UNC-Pembroke Lady Braves lost 3-2 in 12-innings against Flagler.
Walters beat out a bunt single in the third inning, smacked a single to centerfield in the seventh inning, and singled off the pitcher in the ninth inning.
Flagler edged the Lady Braves 1-0 in Sunday’s opening game. Walters pitched 6 strong innings, allowing only a first-inning run on 8 hits while striking out two.
UNC-Pembroke travels to Fayetteville State Wednesday for a 3 p.m. non-conference double-header.
