KINSTON – Addie Bowen batted .700 and played errorless defense this weekend as her SEC 10U Black team won the Eastern North Carolina 10U Silver Bracket Championship Tournament.
Bowen walloped 2 doubles, a triple and 4 singles to finish with 7 hits in 10 at-bats. She also drew 4 walks and was hit by a pitch to compile a .800 on-base percentage.
On defense Bowen played 3 games at catcher and 3 games at shortstop as a guest player for the SEC 10U Black that is based in Raeford.
The SEC 10U Black dropped their first two games in the tourney then fought back to win 4 games in a row that included victories over the two teams that had defeated them in pool play.
The SEC Black survived 4 international rule extra-innings to outlast the South Wake Lightning 12-11 then defeated the G-town Vipers 5-3 in the championship game.
