ToyDriveIn hopes of raising childhood cancer awareness and helping families cope with childhood cancer, Holly Brisson and First Bank in Elizabethtown are holding a toy drive until June 26th.
Addison Bryan, daughter of Ben and Hillary Bryan passed away from cancer this year. She would have been two on the 30th of this month. According to their foundation, childhood cancer is the number one cause of death for children in the United States. Ben and Hillary started the non-profit, Addison Bryan Foundation with the mission to raise awareness about childhood cancer and to help families cope with childhood cancer.
This month they have asked their friends to honor Addison by joining them in collecting a new unwrapped toy for children who are enduring long hospital stays. Holly, a school friend of Ben wants to help the couple in their mission.  She said, “I hope we get a good turn out. It makes my heart feel good to be able to honor Addison and make other children smile.
Folks are asked to drop off new unwrapped toys for children ages 1 to 16 years of age at First Bank, located at 232 W. Broad Street in Elizabethtown to benefit children at UNC, Duke, and WakeMed Children’s Hospitals.
