Spread the love

Bladen County Adopt-A-Cop is a semi-annual joint effort between Melanie Knight Davis and other fans of Bladen County law enforcement organizer to honor our local law enforcement officers. The program was developed to acknowledge the daily sacrifices of law enforcement.

“Our goal is to get each officer adopted by members of our community like you, so that they feel the love and support from us. Adoptions can be by individuals families, business, churches, and so forth,” Mrs. Davis stated.

Interested parties are assigned an officer’s name and badge number for their adoption, Mrs. Davis explained.

“We ask that you include a thank you card or note along with a gift valued around $25.00 for your assigned officer. We have drop off locations around the county for your convenience to drop your gifts off at so that we can collect them all, account for each officer, and then our group distributes them on your behalf to the different agencies here in Bladen County,” she added.

The deadline for dropping off gifts for Bladen County Adopt-A-Cop for Christmas this year is Friday, December 13th. The details concerning your officer and drop off information are sent in a private message to you once you express interest in adopting an officer. Officer names and badge numbers are assigned at random.

Each and every gift is appreciated, regardless of what it is, according to the organizers.

More than half of the local officers have been assigned. If you, your business, your church, or your civic organization is interested in adopting one of the remaining officers please contact Melonie Knight Davis at 910-308-8148 or email bladencountyadoptacop@yahoo.com.
