Bladen County Fire Marshall Bradley Kinlaw confirmed a small plane crashed at the Bladenboro Airport late Saturday afternoon.
According to Kinlaw, the plane was destroyed and the two occupants on board were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
The small plane was beginning a takeoff when, according to Kinlaw, there were issues, the plane veered off path and hit a ditch that ran parallel with the runway. The plane was destroyed.
The occupants of the plane were from Georgia. The crash was near 5 p.m.
