The West Bladen Knights Volleyball Team held their Annual Mini-Volleyball Camp this week, June 16th and 17th, from 9am until 12pm. Girls from 3rd grade to 8th grade participated in the mini-camp. According to Volleyball Coach Gaye Davis the objective for the camp is to introduce more girls to the wonderful sport of volleyball.
The Lady Knights along with Coach Davis helped teach over 35 girls this past Tuesday and Wednesday the skills needed to play the game and encouraged team work. Davis said, “My hope for the camp was to teach the girls techniques, drills as well as social skills. We have had a great turn out.”
The camp ended with parents watching the new skills their daughters had learned while the campers battled it out with some volleyball games. Folks can watch some more great volleyball games in August when the West Bladen Knights Volleyball season starts, according to Davis.
