Even the rains from Tropical Storm Hermine couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm for those searching for bargains on Friday during the annual Labor Day Sidewalk Sale. The annual event unfortunately got off to a soggy start on Friday thanks to rains from Tropical Storm Hermine. But the forecast is expected to brighten up for shoppers on Saturday and Monday. Michael Leinwand braved the rain and set up his merchandise under the awning in front of Leinwand’s Department Store on Friday.

Outside on the sidewalk, Leinwand’s offered a variety of men’s suits and jackets, ladies jackets and clothing and shoes.  Inside, there were markdowns found throughout the store. Several customers braved the rain to check out the items on sale both in the store and on the sidewalk.

Across the street at Fisher’s Men’s and Ladies Shop, a display of flip flops and men’s shirts were carefully placed outside but out of the rain. Shoppers were busy checking things out inside store and taking advantage of many great deals.

The sidewalk sale will take place today, Saturday and Monday.
