The family of a Bladen County woman who has been missing since 2015 is still seeking clues as to her whereabouts. Bladen County Chief Deputy Larry Guyton said the Sheriff’s Office does have a person of interest in the case and investigators continue to pursue tips received from the public.

“It’s still an open case,” said Chief Deputy Guyton.

The family made a plea on Monday using Facebook, asking for leads in the case. On Tuesday morning, Chief Deputy Guyton said someone had been in contact with the Sheriff’s Office with new information.

“A lady called in this morning and gave us some information on it,” said Chief Deputy Guyton.

Chief Deputy Guyton said there have been three extensive ground searches in different areas involving multiple agencies. Thus far, they have been unable to locate Ms. Hyder.

Ms. Hyder was reported missing on December 9, 2015. She is from Oliver Lane in Garland and stands 5’5” tall weighing about 200 pounds with hazel eyes and dark brown hair. She was last seen by her roommate on December 7, 2015.

The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with any information to contact their office at 910-862-6960.
