Spread the love

Back in 2017 the Alcohol Law Enforcement cautioned teachers and parents on teens using flavored vapors and THC candy. Many teens today are using vapors instead of smoking cigarettes,Israel Morrow, an assistant special agent in charge for Alcohol Law Enforcement reported a couple years ago.

In March of 2018 we published an article about JUUL, an electronic alternative to cigarettes gaining popularity with our teenagers which was announced at the Bladen County’s Healthy Collaborative meeting. Travis Greer, Regional Youth Tobacco Prevention Coordinator stated 16.8% of teenagers are using electronic cigarettes and the kids say JUUL is the apple product of the e-cigarettes.

BladenOnline.com staff asked some Bladen County high school students last year if they knew about JUUL products. All wanted to remain anonymous, but each student we asked said the JUUL products are very popular with a lot of students attending both East and West Bladen High Schools.

The Bladen County Schools Board of Education will be holding a Community Forum about Juuling, Vaping and E-cigarettes tonight, Tuesday, January 22nd at the Board of Education building in Elizabethtown.

The meeting will be from 6:00 p.m. until 7 p.m. The question the Schools asked on their announcement about the community forum is, “Do you know what your teen is doing?”

Juul and the vape debate: choosing between smokers and teens; schools respond to the rise of student vaping; and tests confirm e-cigarettes are more dangerous than perceived are all topics listed on the community forum announcement.
