Tuesday evening may have been a rainy, but it didn’t stop folks in Bladen County from celebrating. Kiwanis Club of Elizabethtown held their annual Christmas Party on Tuesday night at the Cape Fear Farmer’s Market with music, food and fellowship.

Bruce Barbour received the Walter Zeller Award for his generous donation to Kiwanis’ Eliminate Program. To receive a Walter Zeller Fellowship award a donation is made that saves or protects more than 690 mothers and their future babies. Other giving options offer the opportunity to impact 350, 175 or 100 lives according to the club.

The club enjoyed a meal with some girls from the Lake Waccamaw Boys and Girls Home. Members of the club also gave each young lady a bag full of gifts to enjoy for Christmas.

Kiwanian, Dr. Lisa Bryan announced the club’s Terrific Kids programs are now implemented in Dublin Primary and Elizabethtown Primary schools. The first award ceremonies for the program will be no later than January at each school.

The club celebrated the year full of giving back achievements.
