The Eagles tacked on a run in the third as Pone raked a single to rightfield, and Scott drilled a double over the leftfielder’s head that scored Pone for a 5-2 lead.

Two East Bladen throwing errors sandwiched around a bunt plated a Bulldog run in the fifth inning that whittled the margin to 5-3.

The Eagles answered in the home fifth as Scott yanked a single to left, and freshman Freddie Wooten, Smith and Heustess drew consecutive walks with Davis Alsup, the courtesy runner for Scott, being forced home on Heustess’ walk.

East Bladen padded the lead with a 4-run sixth inning. Barber slapped a single past the shortstop, and Pone walked. Scott reached base on a fielder’s choice and consecutive sacrifice flies by junior Dan Tatum and freshman Zach Meares scored Barber and Pone.

Alsup who was running for Scott dashed home on a wild pitch, Freddie Wooten walked, and Smith smashed a single to left that scored Wooten for a 10-3 lead.

Smith relieved Scott and pitched the final inning. Two walks, an infield hit, two wild pitches and another run-scoring single by Locklear produced three St. Pauls runs.
