ELIZABETHTOWN – Sophmores Freddy Wooten and Zach Meares teamed up to pitch a 5-hitter and strike out ten batters as East Bladen defeated St. Pauls 4-2 Friday night in Three Rivers Conference baseball action.

Wooten pitched 5-plus innings to pick up the win and allowed a run on one hit and one walk while striking out six. Meares relieved in the sixth and gave up a unearned run on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out four to record the save.

Senior Greyson Heustess smacked a 2-out single to rightfield in the Eagle third inning. Senior Shy Pone yanked a single to right, and Wooten hammered a 2-run double to centerfield that scored Heustess and Pone for a 2-0 East lead.
