Crafty right-hander Jordan Flora scattered nine hits Tuesday night as Heide Trask defeated West Bladen 6-2 in a Four County Conference baseball game at Knights Field.

Flora, a senior, struck out four, threw 121 pitches and never retired West Bladen in order, but managed to keep the Knights’ hitters off balance by mixing up his pitches. He didn’t issue a walk. West Bladen left 10 runners on base.

West Bladen’s Jeremy Hunt also pitched a complete game. The senior right-hander allowed nine hits and three earned runs with eight strikeouts and a walk. He threw 92 pitches (66 for strikes) and had a first-pitch strike to 24 of 32 batters.

Trask scored twice in the third inning, then added four runs (only one earned) in the fourth to open a 6-0 lead. The fourth-inning rally was capped by Tynaffit Davis’ two-run inside-the-park home run to center field.

West Bladen got on the board in the bottom of the fourth. Chandler Lennon reached on an error, advanced to second when Troy Edge was hit by a pitch, moved to third on a one-out single to center by Seth Britt, and scored on Donald McCullum’s deep sacrifice fly to center.

The Knights scored their other run in the sixth. Britt ripped a one-out single to left, stole second and scored on Hunt’s two-out single to left-center.

Hunt was 3-for-4 with a double and RBI to lead the West Bladen offense. Britt was 2-for-3 with a run scored and three stolen bases. Lennon was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Ray Jones and Jarrett Williams each went 1-for-4.

West Bladen, 2-5 overall and 1-2 in the Four County, is scheduled to host Pender on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Heide Trask is 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the Four County.
