DUNN – Christian Gainey and Hunter Tyndall combined to pitch a 1-hitter, and Midway exploded for 11 runs in the 2nd inning en route to a 17-0 Southeastern Athletic Conference baseball victory over West Bladen Thursday night.

Gainey worked the first 4 innings on the hill and struck out 3, walked 2 and gave up one hit. Tyndall struck out 2 in his hitless inning of relief.

Senior Devon Strange cracked a 2-out single in the 1st inning for the only West Bladen hit. Juniors Hunter Smith and Bryce Fuller drew walks to account for the other Knight baserunners. Seniors Bryley Williams, Josh Russ and Alex Brisson shared the pitching duties for West Bladen.

Trey Gregory batted 2-for-2 with a double, 3 runs batted in and 3 runs scored for the Raiders. Teammate Casey Culbreth was 2-for-4 with a triple, 4 RBIs and a run scored. Carson Barefoot finished 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Caden Wilson doubled, scored twice and had an RBI.

The Knights, now 5-11 overall, will host their own West Bladen Easter Tournament that begins Monday. West Bladen will play West Columbus Monday at 8 p.m.
