ST PAULS – St. Pauls snapped a 2-2 tie with a 12-run, 4th inning explosion that propelled the Bulldogs to a 14-2 Southeastern Athletic Conference baseball victory over East Bladen Monday night.

The Eagles capitalized on a pair of Bulldog errors to take a 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Senior Ethan Johnson was hit by a pitch in the Eagle and scored on junior Zamar Lewis’ single. Junior Evan Pait reached 3rd base on an error then dashed home on a fielder’s choice. Senior Raymond Autry reached 3rd base on another Bulldog error in the inning but was stranded there.

Will Brooks cut the lead in half with a home run in the bottom of the first. Josh Henderson scored the tying run for St. Pauls in the 3rd inning.

Brooks blasted a 3-run double that highlighted the big 4th inning for St. Pauls. The Bulldogs capitalized on 7 walks and 3 hit batters in the inning.

The Bulldogs move ahead of the Eagles into 3rd place in the SAC-7 with the win. East Bladen, now 4-3 in SAC-7 play and 8-5 overall, will host St. Pauls Thursday night in a rematch.
