DUBLIN – St. Pauls defeated West Bladen 7-4 Friday night in Three Rivers Conference baseball action.

The Bulldogs scored a run in the first inning on an infield hit, and Caleb Henderson’s double. A walk, a single and Aaron Revels’ 2-run double stretched the Bulldog lead to 3-0 in the second inning.

Two errors and Marcus Johnson’s single plated a pair of Bulldog runs in the third inning for a 5-0 lead.

In the Knight half of the third, junior David Valenta and sophmore Dawson Bryan were hit by pitches, and sophmore Braylon Williamson walked to load the bases.

A double play retired Valenta at the plate, but senior Scott Bowen raked a double down the leftfield line that scored Williamson and Bryan and trimmed the Bulldog lead to 5-2.

The Bulldogs answered with two runs in the fourth on two walks, a hit batter and Austin Locklear’s 2-run single.

In the West Bladen fifth, Williamson smacked a single through the middle, and Bryan walked. After a walk to sophmore Jake Butler, Williamson darted home on a wild pitch, and a throwing error on the same play scored Bryan to slice the lead to 7-4.

Bowen lined the 2-run double, and Williamson and junior Jeremy Pait added one hit each. Bryan and Williamson scored 2 runs each.

Bowen pitched the first 4.1 innings for West Bladen, allowing 7 runs – 5 earned – on 6 hits, 5 walks and a hit batter while striking out seven. Junior Derrick Long relieved and pitched 2.2 scoreless innings allowing 4 walks and 2 hits.
