BaseballA third inning power barrage of 3 triples and a double sealed an 11-1 Four County Conference baseball victory for West Bladen over visiting Union Tuesday night.

Seth Britt drilled a triple to start the third-inning barrage. Junior Jeremy Hunt knocked him in with another triple, and senior Trevor Lesane hammered another triple to make it back-to-back-to-back triples for the Knights. Sophmore Trent West slammed a double to drive in Lesane.

Lesane batted a perfect 3-3 with a double, a triple and 4 runs-batted-in to lead the Knight hitters. Britt who was moved to the lead-off spot for this game finished 2-3 at the plate with the triple and 3 runs scored.

Hunt had the run-scoring triple and 2 runs scored, and West cracked the rbi double. Junior Troy Edge smashed a double and drove in a run.  Weston Pidgeon singled and scored twice, and Michael Pastore added a single and an rbi.

West pitched the first 4 innings for the Knights, allowing a run, 2 hits and 2 walks, while striking out three to pick up the win. Senior Colby McLean came on to pitch the fifth inning and struck out the side in a 1-2-3 inning.

Coach Kim Cain’s Knights improved to 1-1 in the Four County and 3-1 overall. West Bladen will host Wallace-Rose Hill Friday night.
