CERRO GORDO – West Columbus capitalized on four West Bladen errors to scored 3 unearned runs and defeat the Knights 3-0 Wednesday night in Three Rivers Conference baseball action.

The Vikings scored a pair of first inning runs on two errors and Jerry Locklear’s 2-run single. Cole Benton doubled in the West Columbus sixth and scored on an error.

Sophmore Logan West pitched 5.2 innings for the Knights and allowed only the three unearned runs on 5 hits and 3 walks while striking out six. Sophmore Colby White relieved in the sixth inning and retired the only batter that he faced.

Cody Benton pitched 6-plus scoreless innings for the Vikings and allowed 3 hits, 2 walks and 2 hit batters, while striking out seven. Shawn Tyson relieved with 2 runners on base in the seventh and retired the only 3 batters he faced to pick up the save.

Senior Kaleb Heup batted 2-3 to lead the Knight hitters. West slammed a sixth-inning double.

Cole Benton doubled and scored for the Vikings, and Locklear delivered the 2-run single.

West Bladen will host St. Pauls Friday night.
